Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, Tirupati - Admission Notification (1) 2010-2011

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for Admission into Traditional Courses Sastri (BA) / Acharya (MA), Visistacharya (MPhil) and Vidyavaridhi (PhD). Prescribed application form and prospectus can be had free of cost from the office of the Registrar, SV Vedic University, Alipiri-Chandragiri By-Pass Road, Tirupati 517 502. Admissions are based on the Entrance Examination. The last date for receipt of the filled in application in the office is 07-06-2010.

Sastri (BA)

Course: Karmanta in (1) Rigveda (2) Krishna Yajurveda (3) Sukla Yajurveda (Kanva / Madhyandina) and (4) Rahasyanta in Samaveda (Kouthuma / Jaiminiya / Ranayaniya)

Eligibility: Age: 17-22; Successful Adhyayana of Moola (Samhita + Brahmana) of respective Veda

Course: Pratishthanta in (5) Vaikhanasagama; (6) Pancharatragama and (7) Saivagama

Eligibility: Age: 17-22; Successful Adhyayana of Kalyanotsavanta portion of respective Agama.

Course: Sodasakarmanta in Pourohiyas (8) Aswalayana (9) Apasthamba (10) Vaikhanasa (11) Paraskara

Eligibility: Age: 17-22; Successful Adhyayana of Upanayanaanta part in respective sutra

Course: Vidyaranya Bhashya in (12) Rigveda (13) Krishna Yajurveda (14) Sukla Yajurveda (Kanva / Madhyandina) (15) Samaveda (16) Atharvaveda

Eligibility: Age: 17-22; Successful Adhyayana of Moola (Samhita + Brahmana) in respective Veda and essential knowledge of Sanksrit

Course: (17) Kalpa (Srauta)

Eligibility: Age: 17-22; Mulanta Adhyayana of any Veda with Knowledge of Sanskrit

Course: (18) Mimamsa

Eligibility: Age: 17-22; Mulanta Adhyayana of any Veda with Knowledge of Sanskrit or pass in 10+2 pattern or its equivalent qualification with sanskrit subject.

Acharya (PG)

Course: Ghananta in (1) Rigveda (2) Krishna Yajurveda (3) Sukla Yajurveda (Kanva)

Eligibility: Age: 20-25 years; Pass in Kramantham in respective veda

Course: (4) Padantha with Lakshana in Samaveda (Kouthuma / Jaiminiya / Ranayaniya)

Eligibility: Age: 20-25 years; Pass in Rahasyanta portion

Course: Agama in (5) Vaikhanasa (6) Pancharatra (7) Saiva

Eligibility: Age: 20-25 years; Pass in Proshtaantam portion in respective agama

Course: Pourohitya in (8) Aswalayana (9) Apasthamba (10) Vaikhanasa (11) Paraskara

Eligibility: Age: 20-25 years; Pass in Shodasa / Ashtadasa Karmaantha portion in respective sutra

Course: Vidyaranya Bhashya in (12) Rigveda (13) Krishna Yajurveda (14) Sukla Yajurveda (Kanva / Madhyandina) (15) Samaveda (16) Athervaveda

Eligibility: Age: 20-25 years; Pass in sastri or equivalent course concerned Vedabhashya

Course: Mimamsa

Eligibility: Age: 20-25 years; Pass in Sastri / equivalent degree in concerned subject from recognized University

Visistacharaya (MPhil)

Course: Veda, Vedabhashya, Paurohitya, Agama and Mimamsa

Eligibility: Age: Above 22 years; Acharya / MA / Equivalent Qualification with 55% marks in the concerned subject from a recognized University

Vidyavaridhi (PhD)

Course: Vidyavaridhi

Eligibility: Age above 22 years; Pass in PG Course with 55% from a recognized University / Institution in any of the subjects offered by the Vedic University.

Facilities /Incentives in addition to free accommodation, boarding and clothing substantial cash incentives will be given to each student, admitted for traditional courses other than MPhil. For further details, please refer to the prospectus.
