Sharda University - Sharda University introduces four new Bachelor in Architecture Programs

The 5 year full-time undergraduate courses are approved by the Academic Council & Council of Architecture

Greater Noida / New Delhi, July 29, 2011

Sharda University, an institute of excellence, inspiring value-based education, research and development, is all set to cater to the aspirations of students wanting to pursue a career in architecture. The University announced the introduction of four new undergraduate courses under its School of Architecture and Planning today at a press conference held at its campus in Greater Noida.

The newly introduced Bachelor in Architecture Programs comprise of Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.), B. Arch. (Interior Design), B. Arch. (Building Construction & Management) and B. Arch. (Landscape Architecture). These 5 year full-time courses are approved by the Academic Council & Council of Architecture. The four programs have an intake of 40 seats each.

Present at the conference to launch these new courses were country’s known names in the field of architecture. Prof. Manjit Rai Agnihotri, Emeritus Professor, SPA, Delhi & recipient of IIA Madhav Achwal Gold Medal 2010 for his contribution in Architecture Education, was the Chief Guest at the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Chancellor Sharda University, said, “Today, our country is witnessing a huge requirement of professionals who can meet the challenges posed by the architectural demands put forth by rapid urbanization. Keeping this fact in mind, Sharda University has introduced four new Bachelors in Architecture Programs to churn out individuals that can fulfill the challenges of sustainable development, energy efficiency and use of alternate materials, green buildings and infrastructure development as put forth by architecture, interior design and related industries. We at Sharda University are committed to provide quality education and holistic development of students so as to convert them into valuable assets for the country.”
